Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year more than others, I have some artists in my room that love to draw wonderful pictures. I would love the opportunity to give them access to use art supplies in order for them to develop their artistry.
I teach third grade in P.S. 83 a title 1 (high need school) school in East Harlem. The children are wonderful. However, the children as well as the school lack the resources for art supplies. The third grade curriculum is extremely diverse especially in Social Studies. We study different countries around the world. In the past we have made Vejigante Mask when we studied Puerto Rico, We also created Egyptian pyramids and tombs. This year the third grade, has 77 students plan to create a museum but we need your help. We need the materials required for such an endeavor.
