Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In this day and age, students need to be taught in a variety of ways. As a teacher, I know that not every child learns the same way, and I need to be providing everything possible for each student. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of "hands on" manipulatives for my first graders who need them.
My little first graders are a wonderful, energetic, and eager to learn little group!
I currently have eighteen students. Our students attend a charter school in beautiful New Mexico. Many of our students come from homes that have been affected by the economy one way or another. Our students are the best!
My Project
I have requested letter and shape magnetic manipulatives for engaging hands-on learning. Students learn through so many ways. For those students who need to feel and see manipulatives, they will have the opportunity to do so, but most importantly, they will be successful!
We will also be able to use the magnetic letters in our "making words" choice for Daily 5, and the magnetic shapes and numbers for our Daily 5 math learning.
Briefly, Daily 5 is all about allowing students to make their own choices, and in turn, they take ownership for their own learning! Please help my little first graders be successful and engaged! Thank you!
Please help me in providing hands-on, engaging manipulatives for my little first graders.
I know using these resources will be a favorite choice for them.
My students will use these letters, numbers, and shapes to help them become better word detectives and math mathematicians!
