Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We all have a story to tell! Students in the primary grades need to explore writing through the use of various writing tools. The different types of markers, pencils and media will encourage young writers to explore storytelling in their own way.
My students are all special needs students in a Title one school in Bronx.
Many receive occupation therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech therapy. Writing is often a challenge for them due to their cognitive or physical disabilities. Despite their struggles and challenges, my students are eager to learn and apply their newly acquired skills. No accomplishment is too small!!
My Project
Students will use the dry erase boards and erasers to practice writing letters, sight words, and short stories. The electric sharpener will allow me to provide pencils of different sizes to accommodate students with weak pencil grip or hand/eye coordination.
This donation will provide modifications and accommodations to meet their individual educational needs.
It will give students access to a variety of writing tools and improve their writing skills.
