This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing four year-olds from the US and Mexico. Most are Spanish speaking or bilingual students. Our classroom is a bilingual pre-kindergarten class located on the Texas/Mexico border in what has been ranked the "Poorest City in America," but that is not what you will find in this class. You will find students who are eager to learn and excited about their first year of schooling. We take pride in creating an environment that gets students excited for learning to create a strong starting point to becoming lifelong learners. These students are sponges for learning and come in every day with the willingness and determination to learn and succeed.

My Project

Please help me give my young learners two small chairs that can be used in our classroom. These chairs are small enough to allow student the ability to freely sit here and learn without assistance. Students in my class are allowed to find an area in the classroom that they can work from efficiently and comfortably that is of their choosing. In the age of social distancing and constant sanitation these chairs are easily cleanable and the material is perfect to endure daily cleanings and sterilization. I currently have bean bags but these are made of a material that can not be cleaned easily. To be sure our classroom is safe and sanitized, I am requesting these seating options.
