My Project

This year was my first year teaching kindergarten at an all inclusive school. At first I didn’t know what that meant but once educated on our goals and vision, I realized how amazing my year would be.

Having an inclusive classroom has meant the world to me.

Learning to provide materials, interactions, and learning environments for my students has been an integral part of my growth as a teacher this year.

Now, as I get ready to end the year with each of my amazing students, I have visualized what is needed to continue providing an amazing educational experience for them.

The diversity in flexible seating helps many students focus on work and understand how their body works. It helps me as a teacher navigate through the many wiggly days they have and focus on other more important things, like teaching them how to hold a pencil!

Larger pencils help students understand how to grip pencils better and how a pencil should move along the paper. Not only that, but they are more durable for stronger finger and hands.

I create many of my instructional materials, and I’m constantly running out of glue and laminating pouches. Laminating helps materials become long lasting and more user friendly. Children are often able to write on it, bend it, and throw what I make, and it will still be usable at the end of the day.

I’ve learned this year how many students are affected by limited fine motor abilities. I took that knowledge seriously and realized how essential it is to make copies of children materials on card stock. The card stock is easier to grasp and doesn’t move as easily as regular paper.

My thanks for the support! My class appreciates it.
