My Project

It never fails! The book Lunch Money by Andrew Clements is always a major hit with my fourth graders! Even the most reluctant readers are immediately drawn to the characters and plot.

This book does an excellent job of engaging all readers.

From this engagement and excitement, I am able to teach all the reading strategies necessary to become successful readers. In addition, the students meet in collaborative discussion groups where they talk about their ideas after reading. This teaches my students how to participate in meaningful discussions that foster a deeper understanding of the book. This does wonders for their confidence in reading.
