My school has a diverse student body. They have different backgrounds and cultures. Some speak different languages. They have different socioeconomic levels. The students have many differences, but they also have much in common.
The students at my school are enthusiastic learners.
They enjoy hands-on learning and being outside as much as possible. Being outside fosters a connection with nature. Students at May Howard Elementary care about the environment and are eager to do what they can to protect it.
My Project
We live in a very hot environment and our plants get thirsty. Garden hoses and holders are vital to the success of our school gardens, which are located in various parts of our school campus.
The students will be responsible for taking care of the school gardens, so we need a watering method that is "little hands" user friendly.
These materials will enable students of all ages to independently water the gardens.
By being able to roll up the hoses, the students are learning care of materials and responsibility. When it is their turn to water the gardens they will be able to unroll the hoses, water the gardens, and put all supplies away neatly. That way, our materials will last a long time.
