My students need media and supplies to create beautiful watercolor paintings. Watercolor paper is vital for my students to create successful watercolor paintings! Liquid watercolor paint dries without a sticky surface unlike our current paint.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a Title I middle school in Los Angeles, California. and many of the students live in the school's diverse community. Our school has not had a visual art teacher in many years, and as a result, the students have not had access to visual art education.
Middle school is an important transitional time in student's physical and emotional development, and visual art classes will provide students with a creative outlet and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
My Project
Watercolor is a difficult art medium to master. Once the paint is on the paper, it's there for good. Painting with any medium on drawing paper creates a buckled and curling artwork. Using watercolor paint on drawing paper is incredibly frustrating because it compounds the difficulty.
Watercolor paper, liquid watercolor paint and good paintbrushes will give my students the best chance to feel successful creating watercolor artworks.
Using the correct supplies give students the confidence to try something they know they may struggle with, or the possibility they will feel like they have failed.
Art comes from the heart! I want my students to have the opportunity to successfully communicate their ideas using the medium watercolor.
