Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 4 years old, and for most of them, this is their first school experience. They are excited, curious, and eager to have new experiences. Having cases of Dial foam soap allows my students to wash their hands independently, as many of them aren't tall enough to reach the soap dispenser on the wall. Wipes will allow students to wipe their hands and faces after meal times, or after art activities prior to getting to the sink.

Florida is hot and we need our little ones to stay hydrated when we use the playground.

Having extra water bottles available for students will allow our students to comfortably play and hydrate when they forget their bottles at home or may not have an extra to bring to school.

Our class engages in many art activities, and using paper plates to create animals, masks, or to use for paint allows students to mix paint, observe new color made, as well as to encourage independence during art explorations. Students bring small blankets for rest time, and we have found that the perfect size blanket bag is a 2 gallon Ziploc bag. This bag fits perfectly in their cubby, is easy for students to take their own blankets out and put them away when cleaning up from rest time.

Having small bottles of soap, wipes, extra bottles, 2 gallon Ziploc bags, 2 sizes (6 and 12 inch) paper plates and Glade air freshener refills prior to the beginning of the school year will allow us to focus on welcoming our little ones without having to focus on extra supplies that will help our ship run smoothly from the start of the year.
