At our school, students have a voice. Our school is a separate public day school which provides a Special Education Program for students who range in age from three to twenty-one years, with mild to severe cognitive deficits and multiple disabilities.
Classes are comprised of pre-school students in the Preschool Educational Programs (PEP-Intensive Needs Class, Beginnings, Classic, and Collaborative), PreK, Head Start, as well as school-aged students five to twenty-two years old with severe to profound/multiple disabilities.
Instruction is based on the Voluntary State Curriculum, MCPS General Education Curriculum and/or the Fundamental Life Skills Curriculum.
Our school adheres to the "Success for Every Student" philosophy to assure that each student maximizes his or her potential. Art, music, physical education, and media/library classes are provided to all of our students.
My Project
Our school recently had new plants, flowers, gardens, greenhouse upgrades, trees, and shrubs donated. Now we need the water carts to allow our students to properly care for these beautiful new additions to our school!
We are a green school and it is important to teach our students the importance of taking care of our environment.
Our students love to be in nature and take care of our plants, flowers, scrubs, and trees. Students learn how to properly water in our horticulture program.
Our students will use these water carts regularly. Instead of carrying big heavy buckets of water out into the garden or to the greenhouse, our students would be able to roll these water carts outside, and then use cups to water all of our flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees. Instead of one student using a water hose, many students will be able to participate in the activity at the same time.
