Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach two sections of math and science to fifty 4th grade students. Although it is requested they bring a water bottle each day, many students do not bring a water bottle consistently or say they do not have one. This results in the students missing valuable minutes of instruction and work time. Even more time is lost because the water fountain is not close to our classroom.
Students who are hydrated are more focused and engaged.
Our classroom is on the 5th floor of an old building and gets quite warm. These water bottles will provide all students the opportunity to stay in class without the disruption of asking for a drink of water.
