My Students

We are a title 1 school and all my students receive free lunches/breakfast. I teach ESL students as well as special needs children that are mainstreamed in my class. My students need a new rug to start the new school year. I have had a classroom rug for about 15 years and it has lost its color and it’s too small to be able to accommodate 20 kindergartners.

Please help me get a new one!

I love seeing my students learn! Kindergartners are so special because that age is a crucial time for learning. Visual learning is great for this age group. They would love seeing the rug. The spacious seating will provide a comfortable and inviting place for each child in my classroom. It will make them feel important to have their “own” spot to sit in each day, to learn. and participate in everyday classroom activities.

My Project

I am requesting a rug for my classroom to build upon a community environment. It will help students stay focused on their learning, establishing boundaries, minimizing distractions, and enhance their learning by giving them a safe space throughout the day. Having a larger classroom rug will make a huge difference in classroom management. The rug will allow students to have a broader sense of spatial awareness as well.

The flexible seating chairs will allow students to participate in reading activities as well as large group participation.

I will use these chairs in my reading group. This will allow my students to have a place to sit comfortable while reading in the reading center.
