My Kindergarten students are simply wonderful! We are the largest district in the state of NH. My classroom is a community of learners that come from many different economic and ethnic backgrounds, many of whom come from high poverty areas. Our school is a Title I school and 65% of our school's population receive free or reduced-price lunch.
"The future belongs to the curious; the ones who are not afraid to try it, explore it, poke it, question it and turn it inside out." (Anonymous) We work together to create a caring and kind place for all students to grow, play, and learn.
As we build this community, we learn about what we have in common and celebrate our differences. This is true whether we are in the classroom or learning remotely.
My Project
Kindergarten hands and minds are busy whether learning in the classroom or remotely! Throughout the year, we are creating, reading, building and writing. Essential supplies like pencils, paper and glue sticks allow students to be "real authors" and create their own books. Easel pads present an opportunity for students to create their own painted masterpieces while working at a standing easel. New books will continue to enhance the print-rich diversified classroom that I strive to create. As we share stories together in person or online, students learn more about themselves, their peers and their world. They are making real-world connections through shared literacy.
