My Students

Every year, our students perform on the flat gym stage. The parents always say, "That was great, but I couldn't even see my child!" Remember performing as a child? The best part was always catching the eye of mom or dad and seeing how proud and excited each person who came to see you looked!

Our students are kind, hard working kids who face a lot of challenges.

Most come from low income, African American families and live in the neighborhoods surrounding the school. They adapt wonderfully to the rules of school with lots of positive reinforcement, and kind words from their teachers.

My Project

Concerts and performances are a great way to get the parents and other members of our community to come and be a part of our school. The concerts are always on nights scheduled for PTA meetings, and we of course have record attendance on those nights! These risers are about more than just giving our kids a chance to be stars, they will give our school another way to connect to the community. We could even move the risers outside to perform at our Spring Carnival. More than just inviting our parents in, it is exciting to see our students be stars! We want them to feel the joy of performing, but how can they when they are crammed behind others on our stage? Please help us share the special feeling of being part of a performing group with these deserving children.

Risers are an investment that lasts for years and will help our students see and be seen as they sing, dance, and act on stage.

Please lift our little stars a bit closer to the sky and help us share music with our community!
