My Project

Students bring soil samples from their home to find out their soil type and learn what crops and plants will grow best in their exact soil type. In our school, all students receive free lunch and several of our students come from low income households. By learning how to grow their own food in small spaces, students can be independent and have the pride that accompanies supporting your family. My goal is to have each student grow lettuce to plant and use in our school raised garden bed!

These are wonderful students that are seeking hands on opportunities.

The lettuce seeds and soil will be used for the 2024-2025 school year. My goal is for students to grow their own lettuce from seed and take it home to enjoy with their families. This will allow students to get outside and put what they've learned in class to good use!
