it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have a strong desire to learn and are so inclusive of everyone in the classroom. I have never had a class care this much about each other as a whole. If one student is upset the whole class wants to help. When a new student joins everyone in the class makes sure the student knows what to do and where to go.
Covid-19 has greatly impacted my students.
Not only did my students lose out of about 1/3 of their kindergarten year, they lost out on about 1/5 of their first grade year due to Covid-19. These first few years of learning are so crucial for children to be successful in their learning. Even this year Covid-19 is disrupting their learning by causing them to still have to quarantine at times. Many students are behind in their math, reading and writing skills. We are working hard as a class to get caught up in their learning and the students are working hard to get caught up as well.
My Project
The headphones will allow the students to better hear their learning programs that we use in our classroom. We use many online resources for math and reading, including having students listen to books online. By having good headphones they are able to hear and focus on their lessons and not be disrupted by others.
The books will be available to the students to excite their interest in reading.
The books I have chosen are very popular within my classroom and often are not available to my students in the library since the books are so popular. By having them available in my classroom more students will be able to read the books.
The supplies will allow for different ways of learning. We often use whiteboards for math and so they go through markers quickly. We use notebooks to glue science activity papers in and throughout the year we use quite a bit of glue. Having a place to store all their supplies helps keep desks clean and organized which helps the students focus on their learning.
