My students need flexible seating options to help them stay motivated to sit during work time. The Jellyfish chairs and K'motion chairs would be a great addition into our room.
I currently work in a wonderful class with students on the autism spectrum. My students have a hard time using and processing language.
In my room, we are able to work on individual academic standards while focusing on building language and social skills.
Students are able to work in small groups and focus on their individual needs.
The world can be a challenging place for students with special needs. I want my classroom to feel like a safe place where students can learn and explore.
My Project
I am looking to add some flexible seating options into our classroom. The K'motion and Jellyfish seats would allow my students to wiggle and wobble while remaining with their groups at various work times during the day. The kick bands are a great addition to the chairs that we currently have in our room. They will allow the students to have some feedback when they push against them when seated.
It can be hard for my students to remain at work time without trying to seek movement breaks.
The addition of new seating would give the students the opportunity to move and work at the same time. I feel that with the ability to stay working longer, it will allow us to reach more of our academic and social goals.
I am eager and excited to see more seating options in our classroom. I have a great group of students that do want to work. These new chairs will give them choices while allowing them to continue working.
