Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach at a low performing school where there is a need for more hands on learning in the classroom. The students will benefit from seeing a baby chick hatch because it will provide a real-life experience that they can witness with their own eyes!

The students have no live animals in the science lab and we need this incubator so that it will bring the sciences to life. This will impact all grades within the school k-5 grades.

The students can benefit from the use of this incubation system because not only will it allow them to see science happening live in front of them but it will give them an appreciation of the life cycle. This unit will be needed to teach to the AR frameworks that are aligned in the curriculum. It will be so rewarding to see the expression on their faces when the chicks hatch!

Your support will help give my students a chance to have a first hands-on experience which some of them will never have again. Some of the students have no idea what it is like to use manipulatives in the area of science. I think this will be a great way to begin and keep all students involved and excited about learning new discoveries in the area of science.
