Help me give my students an experience in watching chicks hatch from eggs using the Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance Fully Digital Incubator!

My Project

Hatching chicken eggs in the Kindergarten classroom is so much fun! Watching the excitement on the small faces of the children when they see the pip for the first time, hear the chick peeping from inside the egg and then watching it hatch is so delightful! Then watching them hold and care for the chicks after the incubator time teaches them to be responsible, to share and to be kind and gentle to animals.

With the help from community chicken farmers, I will bring the eggs into the classroom to hatch in the incubator for the children to watch from egg to chick!

The children will help keep track of the temperature and the humidity and count down the days until the first chick will hatch. They will log by writing and drawing the process of the 21 days of the development of the chicks in a journal.

My students are inner city school students. Bringing the incubator into the classroom will provide them with an opportunity they wouldn't have any other way.

I have a very old incubator that no longer works to incubate eggs and I would like to replace it. Please help my classroom and the entire school enjoy this opportunity. I share the process with the entire building...from egg to chick!
