My students are smart creative thinkers who love learning math through hands on activities and technology! They really enjoy discovering new strategies in math and exploring math through technology; rather it is playing games with their classmates, practicing their math facts, watching an interactive video, or doing their homework.
Making math come to life in a fun and meaningful way is just what my students enjoy about math class!
So many of my students tell me on a daily basis that they had fun practicing math or playing the math game from the day before. My goal is to teach math in a meaningful way so that every child will understand and have fun at the same time. Many of our students are met with different challenges before coming to school and after school, so being at school and learning new things should be the best part of their day. My students love school because learning is fun, they can be creative thinkers, and for many of them it is a safe place to be.
My Project
As students evolve and grow, education should also change to meet the needs of our students. My students enjoy learning about math and connecting their ideas to the real world through technology. In my classroom every student is taught to challenge themselves, be creative, and have fun while learning. One way students have fun with math is with our interactive smart board. My math class does not have a working laptop that we can use with our interactive smart board.
Technology in my math classroom will help bring math lessons to life for my students.
My visual learners enjoy interactive videos that explain the math lessons. My auditory learners enjoy songs, and the interactive characters in the learning videos, and my kinesthetic learners like to interact with the lesson using the white board.
By helping my 3rd grade class get a laptop you will help students with different learning styles, enhance math lessons, and this will improve students attention and focus overall, therefore increasing student achievement.
