My students need an outdoor sink to wash vegetables and hands after learning about insects. The students have a wonderful learning garden to grow vegetables and observe insects in their natural habitats.
My students receive free breakfast and lunch. Due to the current lack of funding, most of the supplies my students have been using are from my own purchases.
Everyone fits into this classroom community.
Our multi-age program lets kids grow into responsible students and take on leadership roles. It is so wonderful to see children bloom and grow as the year progresses. Our program has a diverse range of abilities, from gifted to special education. Each child will grow and learn at their own level. Our classroom flourishes with independence and at the same time, develops a built-in scaffolding system for students who need more support in all areas of development.
My Project
My students have requested an easy access sink to wash up after observing and collecting insects in our learning garden. The students also will use the sink to wash vegetables they have collected from the garden. We have to travel all the way through the school to use the sink, so the opportunity to have a sink close to where the learning is taking place would be a dream come true.
The sink would be a wonderful addition to our learning garden because students could use the sink to keep their hands clean, but also not track dirt and mud indoors.
The sink will be a welcome addition to our learning environment and provide students with a way to keep clean. Thank you for considering this wonderful project to create an extension to our classroom learning environment!
