Washable Area Mats for Young Scientists During Covid

Help me give my students these washable area mats to use as a classroom rug to foster a science community with safe distancing and flexible seating options during the covid pandemic.

My Students

My inner city students attend a public elementary school in Boston. The majority of students are from low income families. My students have a love of science and are excited to learn new things. I would like to provide them with safe distance seating in my Science Classroom during covid-19.

The elementary children I teach consist of regular education, autistic and English language learners.

My Project

My students will use this washable area mats to gather as a community or small teams during Science class. Students can conduct experiments and write in science journal on the own mat. The rubber material will allow my young students to wipe down their mats to keep our classroom safe.

The colorful mats will provide a fun and safe distancing for my students.

They are also comfortable seating for my young students. The area mats can be arranged in many way so that my students learn safely under the new covid guidelines.
