My students are K-12th grade. In elementary music, they have learned to sing and read rhythm. In middle school music, they have played beginning drum, piano and guitar methods. In high school music, they are learning to play together and arrange popular music for their group to play. We have a band with vocals, piano, drums, and guitars. This draws students to the music department.
By creating this project, I will be able to provide them additional resources that are not available to purchase with our limited budget.
We are a small school, and our students are passionate about learning.
My Project
Warrior students have been working on learning about the elements of music through singing, movement and manipulatives. Hands on learning, allows students to make music come alive and engaging.
Building an Orff Instrument collection will allow students to generate the elements of music to an instrument.
Your generous donation, along with my limited budget, completes the first year of collecting Orff instruments. This year alone, many students will experience the joy of hearing their music compositions on the glockenspiels your donation has provided to our school's music room.
Part of the culture in my classroom is developing a community of caring. Your donation will not only provide the instruments needed for the music classroom, but also solidify the idea that a caring community wants to help them (the students) experience unique learning, and that they matter beyond the school community.
