My Students
Students enter my class and immediately start on their 'Do Now' on socrative.com. Once the 'Do Now' is complete, the students work on what I call 'The Build'. 'The Build' is the meat of the lesson. Once students complete 'The Build', they work on a typing lesson to improve key-stroking techniques!
I currently teach Computer Programming and Digital Media at Sophie B.
Wright Charter School. My students are in the 8th - 12th grade. My Computer Programming students have been coding in Python. They have implemented games, calculators, and even a grade book. Learning these skills at an early age will open up a plethora of opportunities for our young scholars.
My Project
The students will use the tablets along with the MIT AppInventor to develop Android applications. The applications are developed through the MIT AppInventor website. After students have developed the applications through the MIT AppInventor website, they will be able to experience their application on the tablet.
My students use mobile applications for personal use as a part of their everyday life.This project will make a difference by showing students real-time development of something that they use everyday.
The tablet will allow students' applications to connect to a device. This project has the capability of sparking an interest in application development and software design. My student's will compete in a modern job market.
