My students need nonfiction Spanish emergent readers and Spanish alphabet books to improve their literacy in Spanish. A variety of books will give my students more choices to learn to read in their native language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have a bright future. I want to encourage their love for reading. I would like to offer them a more varied classroom library, where all the books are at their right level of reading. I want to teach them that "The more you read, the more you know and the more places you'll go".
As the year progresses, I see in my students something I would have never though to see.
I see in their eyes their love for reading. There have been instances when Reading Time is over, but because they want to finish that last page, I have to give them a few more minutes to get to the bottom of the page, and even then, it was not enough. When they have extra time, they just want to go to the library and devour one more book. My students love to read!
My school is a title I campus, which means that the greatest majority of the students come from low income families. Nonetheless, my students possess such passion for reading that, for most of them, the only present they wanted for Christmas was a book to keep at home. My students will always be exposed to books, but it is of remarkable importance to have a greater variety of leveled books in our classroom library. They love reading, they love books, they want books, they need books!
My Project
My students will be able to have more books (Nonfiction Spanish emergent readers and Spanish Alphabet Books) in their book boxes every week. We have a great variety of English books, but this is a bilingual class and Spanish books are a must because they are learning to read in Spanish first. With more Spanish books in our leveled classroom library, students will have more choices at the time of our weekly book shopping time.
Donations for this project will fund the books that these children will use to learn the base of their education: reading!
My students will have more variety of books, and more chances to enjoy a good book! Help me feed their love for reading and brighten their future.
