My students need hats and gloves to stay warm during the harsh, cold winter months. These hats and gloves will be given to the students before our winter break to keep them warm all winter.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn and dive into new experiences! Our school is a rural, Title 1 North Carolina school, where 100% of students receive free breakfasts and lunches. Outside of school, many of the students do not have opportunities to experience and learn through play; most of the students live in a very grown up world.
My goal is to make kindergarten a fun, safe, exciting place for my students every day.
I strive for every lesson and project in my classroom to be meaningful for my students to learn more about themselves and the world around them. It's so important to have my students fall in love with school in kindergarten, so there is a higher chance of success and motivation as they continue in their schooling.
My Project
These hats and gloves will provide our students with warmth throughout the harsh winter months. Many of our students face issues outside of their control before coming to school that effect their school day. By having hats and gloves to keep our students warm at the bus stop as they wait to come to school, we are eliminating one of those issues and preparing them for a successful school day.
These hats will be given to 120 kindergarten students to keep them warm this winter.
Hats and gloves will help meet one of the most basic needs of our students.
