About My Students
My students represent a group of young individuals with varied abilities and a variety of learning needs. They come together daily from all over our state. My students show a great deal of passion and are motivated by educational opportunities that are practical to their lives and relevant to their interests. This school year, we are working hard to develop our critical thinking skills and begin to work toward building pragmatic solutions to challenges in our daily lives.
This project will allow our students to remain warm, healthy and alert during the cold winter months. Every year, a handful of students attend school with critically deficient clothing for the colder winter months and we do our best to send them home with more adequate apparel. This project is critical to the lives of our students and your help is greatly appreciated!
In Their Own Words
Our goal is to get winter clothing prepared for students who don't have it so that they don't get sick or catch colds. Winter clothing is used for protection against the particularly cold weather that we have in Brooklyn and we are trying to get different kinds of clothes so that students can wear multiple layers.
I will take leadership in this project by writing this grant and helping to identify my fellow students that may be in need of essential winter clothing. When the clothing arrives, I will help by organizing it and helping to distribute it to students who need it as it becomes necessary.
This project is important to our school because when the winter time comes, we need to make sure that kids don't get sick or are unnecessarily cold. Some students don't have everything that they need to be warm and comfortable during the winter and we feel like it is important that they are taken care of.
