My students need a reading corner with an inviting rug and flex space comfortable floor seating where they will want to sit and snuggle up with a good book and develop a positive attitude towards reading.

My Students
My classroom provides a warm learning environment that invites each individual student to find their love of learning. In the fall I will be moving up to first grade, from kindergarten, and my goal is to provide an updated reading area that will inspire my students to read each and every day. My students work throughout the year at becoming life-long learners who WANT to be in class each day. I work to make learning exciting for all and inspire the individual thirst for knowledge.
We were founded on the ideals of “Search, Discover, and Learn” and it is time that we Discover new ways to engage all students.
Our school contains PreK-8 students who have been using the same furniture for 20+ years. I have high expectations for each and every student in my class and work to provide an academically enriching environment. My students and their families matter to me and that is why I live in the same community that I teach in.

Over the last 21 years, I have found that students who feel safe and comfortable in their classrooms are willing to take chances in their learning and push themselves just a little bit farther each day.
My reading center will provide a positive, safe and comfortable second home atmosphere where students are willing to dive into a new book they have never tried to read before.
A colorful rug and colorful flex seating will be arranged to invite students to “Search” for their perfect book and “Discover” why reading is so magical. All books in my library are leveled so that each student can find that perfect book that matches their independent reading ability as well as a book that challenges them with their instructional reading skills to “Learn”.
