This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help supply our kindergarten cuties who are in need of hats and mittens this winter. Our kindergarteners love playing outside at recess. The playground is where so much learning occurs. We work on communication skills, peer interaction, turn-taking, strengthening of gross motor skills, dramatic play, and much, much more. Our students have a great time running around and having fun with their peers. However, many of our low-income students are not dressed appropriately for the colder weather.

These hats and mittens are just what our kindergarten students need to stay warm while playing outside!

The storage will be used to keep these hats and mittens separate from other students. I would like to also make the holidays feel fun and special. This time of year can be difficult for many students and families. I would love to make sure it is a fun time of year in our classroom, so I am requesting a craft and a go fish game for each of the students to play with their families.
