This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach first grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. My sweet, bilingual students are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach. I am so proud to be their teacher!

I am requesting mittens and gloves for my students to use during recess on cold, winter days.

My students are fortunate to have recess three times a day. However, when the weather turns cold and nasty (as it frequently is in Michigan during the winter), some do not have proper winter gear. I would like mittens and gloves stored in the classroom for the kids to use during recess time.
