Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are great kids that come from a large city in Massachusetts. We have a very high poverty rate in our community and our students are always in need of the most basic classroom supplies. On a daily basis, we are in need of pencils, pens, erasers and paper. These are essential tools in any academic environment.

Providing our students with these basic materials will be a great help and will make a positive difference in their academic lives.

My Project

This project will make a difference to our students because it will provide them with a new resource that they can enjoy and be proud of. Many of the materials and resources we have are used or second hand. These winter jackets will go to some of our less fortunate children in foster care or those that may be homeless. They will keep them warm on their way to school and home each day. These winter jackets will really help our adjustment counselor help kids that really need them.

Providing these jackets to our kids will give them a sense of pride and keep them warm and healthy in the coming months.
