My Project
Food insecurity is a pressing issue in schools across the country. This means that our students with disabilities are not consistently getting the food that they need in order to be healthy. There are many concerns for students who are experiencing food insecurity like their overall health. Additionally, they can display maladaptive behaviors and get lower grades on assignments and assessments because they are tired, hungry and lack focus.
This project will allow us to provide an inviting classroom and light food items in order to ensure comfortability, nourishment and food safety for our students with disabilities which is essential as we approach state testing season.
The essential oils help students focus while completing assignments when used in a diffuser. We will be able to ensure they have the ample means necessary to be well fed with food items throughout their day as many of them only eat while they are at school.
