This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is committed to excellence in education, inspiring and empowering children from all nationalities and diverse backgrounds, giving them the foundation they need to achieve the highest level of success in life. The school enrollment is 650 and growing rapidly. Many of our students are English Language Learners, which means English is their second language. All of our students receive free and reduced lunch.
Our school resembles the streets of New York City.
Students come from many different countries, bringing with them extraordinary traditions and cultures. Many students join us speaking little, to no English at all.
My Project
A microwave and a K Cup coffee maker in our classroom would allow students to reheat breakfast at any point in the day. A microwave and coffee maker would provide students with warm meals to take with them after school. Our students need to be fed warm meals during and after the school day due to low socioeconomic status. Students also need headphones to use while eating breakfast. Headphones allow students to focus on eating their breakfast.
Studies show that students who eat warm breakfast are better focused throughout the school day.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to focus on the academic material at hand, and not their next meal.
