This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe that all students can learn!

Our school is located in a high poverty area, with ninety-nine percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. I teach what is called a Self-Contained Cross Categorical Academic class of typically about fifteen students, kindergarten to third grade.

My classroom is made up of students with a wide range of disabilities. My students work towards not only achieving their academic goals but their emotional goals as well.

Every day in my classroom is an adventure. My students face difficult moments every day due to their disabilities. However, with the support inside my classroom and on campus, we work to make every day a great day. We are a classroom community and strive to make sure all members of our community are appreciated and valued.

My Project

My students are full of life and want to learn, but it can be hard to learn if you are cold. I am asking for warm and cozy sweater jackets to help keep my students warm during the upcoming cold winter months.

These sweater jackets will go to students in need of a jacket in my classroom and to anyone who may need one at our school.

My students need a warm and cozy sweater jacket to keep warm on the bus, at recess, and even in the classroom. I don't want any student to not go outside for recess, because they are cold. I am trying to think ahead, and get these kids a jacket before winter comes.
