This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are a remarkable group of resilient and dedicated learners who face every challenge with a smile. Many of them come from underserved communities, and while they have an incredible drive to succeed, the cold winter months can make it difficult for them to focus. By providing warm winter jackets, we can ensure they arrive at school feeling safe, cared for, and ready to engage in their lessons without distractions from the weather.

These jackets will not only protect our students from the cold but also help them build confidence, knowing they are equipped to face the day.

Staying warm will allow them to concentrate fully in the classroom and participate in outdoor activities comfortably, fostering both academic and social growth.

Our goal for this project is to remove a basic barrier to learning—cold weather—so our students can thrive. What makes our students truly special is their determination to succeed despite the obstacles they face. They inspire us daily with their kindness, curiosity, and perseverance, and we want to ensure nothing stands in their way of achieving greatness.
