Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so happy to be learning in-person, and I couldn’t be happier for them. I teach third grade now and taught some of these students in first grade when the pandemic hit. My students work hard and try their best. They’re amazing writers and artists. Learning seems to be almost back to normal. However, I have to admit there has been a learning loss.

I am a firm believer that a warm and welcoming learning environment produces students who are happier and more eager to learn.

In-person learning has made such a difference in their social and emotional well-being. I want to continue creating a daily space that is warm, welcoming, and calming for them to help them focus their attention on what is being taught. Soft LED lights that border the whiteboard and bulletin boards will definitely help draw their attention to what is being written on the board during instruction and what aids/posters are on the bulletin boards.

The "Hello" doormat will welcome them each day as they walk in and allow them to wipe their shoes on it on rainy days. The cushy stools will help brighten the mood with its vibrant colors and flexible seating. With your help, these soothing lights, welcome mat, and cushy stools can transform my classroom into a positive environment that celebrates learning and inspires joy.
