Warm Coats for Our Little Scholars!

Help me give my students stay warm this winter. Many of our students do not have appropriate coats for the cold we are experiencing this winter in Virginia.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students and families are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Resources are limited and our faculty has to be creative with planning to develop lessons to keep students engaged with what is available. It is not uncommon for teachers to spend out of pocket for materials to keep our students excited about learning each day.

Students at my school spend a substantial amount of time on school buses and at bus stops each morning and afternoon, therefore having appropriate clothing to keep them warm is mandatory.

Students who do not have appropriate clothing are not prepared to learn while at school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
