This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ELL tenth grade students are all recent immigrants who are learning English as their second, third, or even fourth language. My students are from more than 20 countries and speak more than six different languages.

My students are amazing recent immigrants who work part-time jobs, take care of family members, play sports, and attend our after-school programs.

Throughout the year, my class will host family writing events to bring guardians, community and family members to celebrate our work and build relationships.

My Project

Every year, I have more and more students whose families struggle to make ends meet in the expensive city of Boston. Winter is a particularly challenging month when families have to buy new clothes, holiday presents, and pays higher gas and electric bills.

These five coats will help five students and families stay focused and warm this winter.

This collection of five coats matches the sizes of students who need them, but they are also five different styles so that there is no identifiable "charity coat" style at the school. Your donation will help my students stay warm, healthy, and comfortable this winter.
