My Pre-K students are inquisitive young children who love to learn and explore. They thrive on learning new things. The looks on their faces when they learn something new is priceless.
I am fortunate enough to teach 23 of the most amazing Pre-K students in Maryland.
Students at our charter school come with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some of these students come to school without the things they need, but that certainly does not stop us from making sure they get the tools they need to be successful, well-rounded children.
My Project
The weather is getting colder and winter is coming, but that won't stop us from having fun outside. What would stop us in not having winter essentials on these cold days. Our students go outside just about every day for recess. For many children, this is one of the best parts of the day. For others, it can be one of the worst because they are just too cold to enjoy it.
We are desperately in need of hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves so we can provide them to students who come to school without them.
If students have these essentials, they will be able to enjoy outdoor activities despite the chilly temperatures. My hope is that we can provide each child in need with something to warm their heads, necks, and hands so that their only worry would be what to do outside rather than how to keep warm out there.
