Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into school each day with an enthusiasm for learning. Despite the hardships many of them face, they still come in with a smile on their face, ready to learn something new! They are a wonderful group of kids!

My students can greatly benefit from alternatives to paper/pencil tasks.

My classroom has no whiteboards for them to practice their work. I would love for them to have another means for them to be engaged in lessons aside from responding solely on paper.

My Project

Currently, my classroom has no individual whiteboards for students to use. I love for my students to be able to show their thinking during lessons quickly by using whiteboards to show their thinking. I can check their understanding more quickly than on paper, and students really enjoy being able to use them. These whiteboards are also great because not only can the students write on them, but they are also magnetic. This is great for the kids to be able to easily manipulate magnetic letters to practice spelling and vocabulary words. This would greatly benefit my students’ learning across all subject areas.
