My students need a mobile whiteboard teaching easel.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Remember that cozy feeling of meeting on the classroom rug? As a first grade teacher, I strive to make the classroom a warm, comfortable place where they can express themselves and come together as a community.
This will be my 9th year as a teacher and I love it as much today as the day I started.
My students are excited to gather on the rug for mini-lessons, read alouds, or even classroom meetings. I want my students to have the opportunity to do so in a comfortable, child-friendly environment.
We already have a wonderful rug set up in the classroom which makes meeting with all of my first graders possible. However, we have a big problem. Our whiteboard easel just broke. Yikes! We use it in countless ways. Our school district recently started using the Lucy Calkins writing program and a big part of writing workshop is modeling your own writing for students. It's imperative to have an easel to effectively demonstrate a writing skill. We also use the easel for grammar lessons, philosophy, small group lessons, and even voting on what to name our class fish. A day doesn't go by without it.
The meeting spot on the rug is such a key part of my classroom and a space in which so much learning occurs.
With your help we can restore this space to its fullest potential. Your support can make it happen!
