Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a highly impoverished urban community. Most students arrive at school without supplies, clean clothes, or breakfast. Despite these struggles, my students still come to school looking to learn.
My goal is to make learning more accessible to all students.
Due to the high poverty rate of the district, teachers are not given a budget to order supplies for our classrooms. I purchase many items with my own money, as do so many teachers around the country.
My Project
These pieces of technology will not only give all students better access to learning, but also encourage creativity.
Technology excites children and gets them interested in their learning.
They are surrounded by technology constantly and are drawn to it.
The document camera will help make modeling and demonstrations much easier for all students to experience. It will also provide better access to read alouds, writing samples, and notes.
The Cricut machine will allow students a new way to personalize their work. They always complain that we do not have access to a colored printer, so this will be a fun way to brighten up their writing pieces for display! It will also allow me to provide them with eye-catching and colorful materials to work with.
