Wanted: Mice for our Classroom (and Headphones Too!)
My students need headphones and mice to work on our new Chromebooks. Many students struggle with the touch pad and ask to use a mouse instead. Headphones will reduce distractions while using our Chromebooks.
My students are incredible people! They are a group of hard-working second graders. They all shine somewhere, and we try to celebrate that!
We're learning about the growth mindset, and when one student struggles, they remind each other that they just haven't learned it YET!
They remind each other of "the dip" when they're feeling frustrated from learning something new and how to show empathy using "the maze," by putting themselves in someone else's shoes.
Our school is in a rural setting whose motto is, "Where Friendliness is Served Country Style." I see this in our school and classroom on a daily basis.
My Project
Students use Chromebooks every day to help them learn and they love it! However, now that we've had them for awhile we could make the learning in our classroom even better.
Headphones will allow students to focus on their own computer activities more, and learn without disturbing their neighbors.
Every day students work on learning activities specific to their needs during our intervention time. It would be great to offer headphones to students who are easily distracted (or distracting!)
