My students need good quality literature. They are curious and eager readers, but I believe that having more books that they have direct interest in will get them more excited to read!
My students are compassionate and full of life. They care and know about the responsibility they have in their education. I hope to do everything I possibly can to encourage and strengthen that.
My students bring me hope for the future.
They are creative and brilliant kids, who although have not been handed easy lives, are always finding hope in the brokenness and laughter through it all. My students are future world changers, and it is our job to help them get there.
My Project
These books have been carefully selected, by myself and my students. These books have peaked my students interest and will be loved and well read. These books will help promote a love for reading in my classroom. These books have the potential to turn an uninterested student into a student eager for a chance to read.
I believe good quality literature is a stepping stone for life long learning and excitement through books.
As a first year teacher my classroom library is full of a lot of hand-me-downs and forgotten books. While this is effective my hope is for my students to have books with characters they know, and story lines they can relate to.
