Help me give my students markers to illustrate their work and book bins to store their books.
This project expired on August 29, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I cannot even explain to you how much I love what I do! I work in a high poverty, high needs school with some of the best children I have ever met! They are enthusiastic and come in ready to learn. They tell me daily that coming to school is their favorite part of their life. They want to succeed and they want to prove people wrong.People write them off because of where they live or where they are from.
I do my best every day to build them up and help them realize just how amazing they are.
When I graduated I knew I wanted to work in a high poverty schoo, and even with opportunities to switch to "easier" schools, I do not want that. I want to be here and teach these strong, resilient children. I want to help them be the best people they can be. Some people are quick to write them off but I know they have amazing little brains just waiting to be tapped into!
These items will help inspire and organize my students. They love to write stories when they know they can illustrate them. It is a magical process for them to see their work come to life.
Scented markers seem silly, and I was not sure if I should get them when they asked me for them, but I decided to get one set and their response was unbelievable!
They love to finish their writing so they can use the set we have in our classroom.
The light covers, book bins and other items are to help me maintain a positive calm classroom. They do not have book bins and with my classroom being ELA based, this would be an incredible addition for them to be able to use to organize their books.
These items will help me continue to reach and inspire these students every day.
