My students need a mobile storage cart, 15 different leveled book bins, and 9 additional different book sets on a variety of themes and topics to create a classroom library.
" Few things leave a deeper mark on the reader, than the first book that finds its way to his heart."- Carlos Ruiz Zafon
My Kindergarten students love to read, but my class does not have any books.
I teach at a Title 1 school in Oklahoma City.
My school is in a very low socio-economic area. At least 50%-75% of the students do not have books at home. The one place they are able to read books is at school. Our school has a very small library. The students are able to check out one book a week.
My Kindergarten classroom does not have any books. The only books we have are the ones my students check out of the library.
It is so very important for children to have a variety of books to read, especially Kindergarteners!
My Project
I am requesting a mobile storage cart, 15 different leveled book bins, and 9 additional different book sets on a variety of themes and topics to create a classroom library. The leveled library mobile storage cart will allow me a place to store the classroom books. The leveled book bins and books will help my students know which books are on their level. Multiple levels of books will help motivate my students to want to read at a higher level.
By donating to this project you will greatly improve my classroom by allowing my students to read books about different subjects and themes on their ability level.
This will help my students build a strong Reading foundation that will help them succeed in years to come.
