Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from one of the neediest populations of our city in Massachusetts. Many of the school's children come from the three low-income housing developments and a homeless shelter that surround the school. Over half are English Language Learners.
Despite the challenges my students face, they come to school every day with a smile, ready to learn!
They love to work together to solve problems. Hands on lessons with manipulatives, buddy reading, and engaging computer games are just a few of their favorite things!
My Project
The chromebooks will enhance learning in my classroom. My students will use them in small groups to access activities for review, application, and enrichment. They will be able to increase fluency and comprehension by having access to many engaging reading sites.
These Chromebooks will allow my students to gain access to many online math, science, and language resources.
It will allow them to do their research online and bring all their new knowledge to life by publishing with pictures and graphs!
As our district and many others move towards online assessment it will also allow them to take their assessment online.
