My students need a set of 6 big books about shapes and a big book storage rack to provide easy access to the big books for my students.
This project expired on July 3, 2012.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you know how hard it is for 29 students to look at and see the small book that I am holding up and reading to them at the front of the carpet?
My 29 first grade students are enthusiastic learners.
They love listening to stories and enjoy the few big books I have. I teach in a public school in urban LA County. My classroom is home to students from all ethnic groups and all walks of life and family backgrounds.
I love big books! They make it easy for all students to see the book and read along with the story regardless of where they sit on the carpet. These big books about shapes will allow my students access to the math curriculum when we study geometry and shapes. This not only helps them meet the math standards but also the language arts standards, since we are reading the big books whole class. I have also requested and easy access storage center that will allow my students to make their own book selections after we are done reading the books.
Your donation will make a difference in the lives of 29 students.
One of my students told me today, "math is my favorite subject." These math big books will help my students understand geometry AND improve their reading skills at the same time. The storage rack will help keep our classroom an organized place for learning. Thank you for helping us!
