Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my art room is full of laughter and learning.
My students are hard workers and very eager to learn.
Each grade level works on specific projects created to help refine motor skills, teach art skills, and build artistic confidence. They really like creating art and also enjoy discussing it as well. My students ask great questions! They want to know more about artistic processes and about master artists. They often come into my classroom wanting to share experiences that they have had with art outside my classroom. Their excitement helps make me a better teacher.
My Project
My students need basic art supplies such as markers and crayons, clay tools, pencil sharpeners, and construction paper. My students will be able to create all kinds of art projects with these supplies. Everyday, basic tasks will be easier with these new resources. Paintings, clay projects, printing projects, and drawings will all be better because of your donations. High quality pieces of art will be able to be created in hopes that they will remain family keepsakes for years to come.
When I took this position, there were not a lot of supplies left over from the year before for the kids to use.
The first few months of school were challenging until the supplies I ordered for the year arrived. Even with those supplies I was still running short on things and wished I could provide more things for the students to get a more complete art experience. Having more supplies will give my students the chance to have more artistic experiences and make those experiences more meaningful.
