Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Budding musicians need your help. I teach elementary band in a low-income area. Many of the 4th grade students who are eligible to participate in band simply cannot afford the cost of renting or purchasing an instrument. Each year I have a list of students who would like to participate in the program, but they need an instrument.

My students need instruments to participate in the band program. Many of my students have a strong desire to participate in the band program. Unfortunately, the majority of families cannot afford to rent or purchase an instrument for their children. Each year I have a list of students who would like to participate in the program, but they need an instrument. The school has a few instruments that the students are able to borrow, but the number of instruments we have is limited, which then excludes interested students. The trumpet is a popular choice among the 4th graders. This instrument will enable a student to fulfill their musical hopes and dreams.

A new trumpet will allow the opportunity for many students to participate in the band throughout the years to come.

You will make it possible for students to learn how to play an instrument. This is a life-long skill that they will have forever. They will be so excited to be given the opportunity to play in the band!
